Making
Soap
Oils are loaded into the vats, gently
heated and then dispersed into the pot tipper to be gently mixed.
The soap is then poured into the molds.
The soap is alternatively mixed and left to rest in
order to come to the desired thickness (trace). Skin nuturing additives
and essential oils are added at the end of the process.
The 50lb. blocks are unmolded. Each hand made mold
holds two 50lb. blocks, insuring enough mass to generate heat in
order to saponify evenly the soap.
The 50lb. blocks are cut into logs. Logs are cut into
bars and stacked in the curing trays. Real soap needs to cure just
like cheese in order to become gentle, hard and work out excess moisture.
